Beijing Yew Wah International School is a large-scale international education campus developed by the Baohua Life Education Group along the Liangshui River in Beijing's Yizhuang Development Zone. It comprises Yew Chung International School, which enrols children of expatriates in China, and Yew Wah International School, which enrols children of Chinese nationals. The scope of this project encompassed three buildings: the Yew Wah Academic Building, the Yew Chung Gymnasium, and the Yew Wah Gymnasium. When our design team became involved, the main structure of the Yew Wah Academic Building had already been completed. However, the school's operational team deemed its interior spaces inadequate for meeting the requirements of ‘21st-century learning’. Consequently, we undertook a comprehensive redesign and reconfiguration of the interior layout upon the existing structure.
