BIBA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RENOVATION

PEONY ELECTRONICS GROUP

IMS GLOBAL DATA CENTER

The IMS Platform Global Data Center serves as the flagship exhibition space for Mudan Electronics Group’s Intelligent Manufacturing Service Platform. In an era where data underpins both production systems and daily life, the design establishes a “borderless data world” as its central concept, translating the immaterial and dynamic nature of data into spatial experience through light, materiality, and circulation.

The main entrance unfolds along a downward spiraling ramp, where a segmented ceiling of dynamic LED panels visualizes real-time data flows. This immersive interface guides visitors naturally toward the reception area while establishing the spatial narrative of data movement. The IDC server exhibition marks the first encounter with data, where discrete LED points emerge in near darkness, evoking the sense of digital particles jumping through networked systems.

The circulation is articulated through a sequence of high-contrast black-and-white zones. White perforated metal panels with integrated lighting create diffused illumination, counterpointing the dark LED-lit areas. The spatial progression culminates in the main exhibition hall, dominated by a 4K data display, reinforcing the hierarchical focus within the experience while maintaining a clear visual rhythm.

Adjacent strategic and innovation zones—the roundtable strategy hall and the entrepreneurship exchange center—feature electrically switchable glass partitions, writable projection surfaces, and interactive projectors, creating adaptable, technology-rich collaborative environments. Furniture and fixtures are selected to support rapid reconfiguration, accommodating diverse scenarios from presentations to hands-on workshops.

The main hall is designed as a flexible, multi-functional environment. A luminous ceiling supports two modes: a “dark mode” optimized for data visualization and presentations, and a “bright mode” for operational control, collaborative meetings, and innovation activities. High-gloss materials in the white zones mitigate the perception of low ceiling height, enhancing both spatial depth and the sense of a hyper-real environment.

Overall, the design positions human interaction, data visualization, and architectural space in a continuous loop. Through strong contrasts of light and dark, materiality, and functional overlay, the IMS Platform Global Data Center manifests a spatial interpretation of data as both operational and experiential. The resulting interior blurs the boundaries between exhibition, collaboration, and control, creating a future-ready digital environment that is both functional and emblematic of the platform’s technological identity.
